The Red Rider Swim team traveled to Cleveland State on Friday for the District meet and a chance to advance to the state swim meet.  The state meet is next week in Canton at the CT Branin Natatorium.

Orrville’s 200 free relay of Chloe Johnson, Austin Renner, Sarah Auble, and Elizabeth Maiwurm finished 2nd to pick up an automatic bid to state. The same 4 swimmers took 4th in the 400 free relay and most likely will also advance to state.  (Dependent on other times from around the state)

In individual events, Maiwurm took 5th in the 100 free and Johnson took 6th in the 50 free and look to have a good chance to get to state as well.

As a team, Orrville took 6th which is quite impressive for a meet that is dominated my private schools.  (Hawkin, Hathaway Brown, Gilmour Academy, Lake Catholic)

Also, congratulations are in order for Orrville coach Michelle Heller as she was voted the Division II Northeast Ohio Coach of the year.
