In the Ohio Cardinal Conference the league championships are determined by a combination of regular season points and tournament points. Orrville entered Saturday’s OCC Tournament in 5th place right behing West Holmes and just in front of Clear Fork.
With a strong showing on Saturday, Orrville was able to finish ahead of both Clear Fork and West Holmes to take 4th place. For the 1st time in 13 years, the OCC champion was NOT Lexington. Ashland defeated Lexington with 63 points to Lexington’s 57. The entered the tournament tied at 32 points all.
Winning matches for Orrville was:
- Jeff Dilyard (Junior) was 3rd team all-league at 1st Singles. He had wins over Clear Fork and Wooster.
- Mike Ellis (Senior) and Colt Preston was 4th at 1st Doubles. They had a big win over Clear Fork.
- Cain Duskey (Frosh) and Matt Mendiola (Junior) ended up 4th at 2nd Doubles. They also had a nice win against Clear Fork.
