269girls teams sent athletes to Division II district meets that began May 18th. Two weeks later, only two of those teams were better than the 2017 Lady Riders Track and Field team. The Riders scored 28 points at the state meet to finish behind only Beechwood (35 points) and Carrollton (29 points). Two Riders left Jesse Owens Stadium with three medals. Junior Alex Eby cleared 11’10” to claim runner up honors in the Pole Vault to start Championship Saturday. Then in the first running event of the day, Eby ran 14.80 in the 100m hurdles finishing 5th. Their time of 1:44.80 earned them the 6th spot on the podium. Casto-Goodard then broke the school record for the third time in four weeks running 57.22, fast enough to receive the 7th place medal. In the last event of the meet, Casto-Goodard teamed up with Maximovich, freshman Maya Hamsher, and sophomore Chloe Johnson to run 3:59.69 to finish 4th.
