Last Monday night the Red Rider boys basketball team was able to avenge an early season loss by defeating the Norwayne Bobcats at Wooster high school. The Riders came out strong winning the first quarter but had to settle for a time at halftime. The Riders were able to take a four point lead into the fourth quarter and were able to hold on for a five point victory to move on to the district finals on Friday night. The Riders were led by Ben Summers, D’Vontez Brown and Cayden McDaniel, who each scored in double figures. Summers led the way with 17 points and 7 rebounds, followed by Brown’s 13 points and McDaniel’s 11. Ben Amstutz led the charge off the bench, with 6 rebounds and Logan Domer did a great job in the second half of slowing down Norwayne’s leading scorer. The Riders play Tuslaw on Friday night for a chance to move on to regionals at the Canton Memorial Fieldhouse.
