Despite a hot shooting first quarter on Friday night, the Red Riders boys basketball team wasn’t able to get stops when they needed to in their loss to the Northwest Indians. The Riders jumped out to an early 7 point lead after one quarter, but were outscored 35-22 in the middle two quarters. That was the difference in the game as the two teams evened each other out in the fourth quarter. The Riders were paced by Marquael Park’s 15 points, while Ben Summers (13) and Cayden McDaniel (12) also scored in double figures. Ben Amstutz came off the bench to lead the Riders in rebounding with 7 and D’Vontez Brown led with 6 assists. With the loss the Riders stand at 1-1 in the conference and 4-2 overall. The Riders will play two games next week as they host both Akron North on Wednesday night and Fairless on Friday night.
