Last night the Orrville boys basketball team defeated the Manchester Panthers 59-56 at home to claim its first PAC-7 basketball title. After a slow start in the first half and throughout the third quarter, the Riders kicked it into gear and scored 23 points in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback on senior night. The Riders were led by Logan Domer’s 19 points and 7 rebounds. Also in double figures were Cayden McDaniel and Ben Summers with 12 and 10 points respectively. Completing a big night for the seniors was Jason Suppan, who finished his first high school start with 4 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 blocks. D’Vontez Brown and Cooper Haley came off the bench to provide valuable minutes and great defense, while finishing with 6 points apiece. With the win the Riders move to 13-6 on the season with 2 games left in the regular season. The Riders host Northwestern tonight in a boy/girl doubleheader. Girls reserve will play at 4:30 and varsity at 6 in the new gym. The boys reserve will play at 6 in the old gym followed by the varsity at 7:30 in the new gym. Come out and help celebrate the 2018 state champion football team between the boys and girls varsity game as the team will be receiving their rings!
