The Red Rider football team started its postseason play on a high note by defeating Tuslaw 47-20. Orrville jumped out to a big first quarter lead with do-it-all sophomore Marquael Parks scoring a rushing, receiving, punt return, and interception return all for touchdowns in the opening quarter of play to start the rout. Parks ended the day with 8 carries for 160 yards and 2 catches for 61 yards with 5 total touchdowns. Seniors Nathan Dombrowski and Jason Suppan both also caught touchdown passes from quarterback Logan Domer. The Rider defense came up big again and had a shutout until the starters were taken out. The defense was lead by Jake Phillips, Donovan Hall, and Parks who all had interceptions and Jacob Bailey who blocked a punt. Orrville will advance to the regional semi finals next Saturday to take on Gilmore Academy.
