The girls’ and boys’ cross country teams ran some of their best times of the year on their home course Saturday. The race featured all of the cross country teams in Wayne and Holmes counties.
The girls’ team placed 5th overall and was led by the meet champion and gold medalist Maya Hamsher who ran her best time of the year, an amazing 19:27. Freshman silver medalist (14th place) Rachel Dreher tied her best time of the year with a 21:30. Other girls who ran their best times of the year included Andrea Torres, Cate Jones, Lacey Caskey, Ellen McAllister, and Emily Batchlet.
The boys’ team finished 6th overall and was led by silver medalist (11th place) James Shupp. Josh Rittgers (23rd) and Cole Gravatt (22nd) ran their best times of the year, as did Wyatt Waldron, Timmy Plumley, Caleb Orosz, Kayden Underwood, and Nolan Maag.
The 2 teams will run at the PAC meet next Saturday at Clay’s Park.
