In a close battle with Norwayne, the Lady Riders scored enough to come out on top to claim the Division II District Title Saturday at Red Rider Stadium.

Earning District titles were Alex Eby in both the Pole Vault and the 100m hurdles and Maya Hamsher in the 800m. Hamsher also was part of two champion relays as she joined Sierra Hamsher, Sedona Goodard and Alyssa Plumley in the 4x800m relay and then teamed up with Goodard, Chloe Johnson and Daysia Hargrave to win the 4x400m relay.

Joining those seven on the bus to Lexington on Thursday for the Regional meet will be Mikaila Carpenter (shot put,2nd; discus throw, 3rd), Karlie Lax (pole vault, 2nd), Chloe Preston (high jump, 2nd), Ashley Stiffler (long jump, 3rd), Ashley Kinnaird (3200m, 4th), the 4x100m relay team of Hargrave, Hailey Copeland, Stiffler, and Alexis Tillison (2nd), and the 4x200m relay team of Hargrave, Stiffler, Tillison, and Goodard (2nd). Hargrave will also compete in the 300m (2nd) hurdles and Goodard in the 400m (2nd).

Helping with the winning point total but not quite making the cut for the trip to Regionals were Stiffler (100m, 7th), Sierra Hamsher (800m, 5th), Plumley (1600, 6th), Lax (100m hurdles, 5th), Johnson (300m hurdles, 5th), Tamara Turner (long jump, 6th), and Brandi Bucher (discus throw, 5th).
