Due to high winds Thursday night at Triway High School, the Pole Vault was postponed until Friday. However, the girls left Triway Thursday evening having already sealed up the championship. The 1-2 punch of Daysia Hargrave and Ashley Stiffler led the way as they finished first and second in both hurdle events. Hargrave won both events with times of 15.70 and 45.83 while Stiffler was right behing clocking 16.66 and 48.74. Stiffler also claimed a runner up spot in the long jump (15’4.5″). Mikaila Carpenter took the top spot in the shot put (37’5.5″) and second in the discus (111’4″). Maya Hamsher claimed an individual championship in the 800 (2:21.65) and anchored the PAC champion 4×800 team as she joined forces with Alyssa Plumley, Sierra Hamsher, and Sedona Goodard to record a time of 10:02.44. Kaitlyn Dexter won the wheelchair 100m (31.24) and Karlie Lax won the pole vault (10’6″). Also placing for Orrville was Jaylan Snowden (Shot Put, 2nd, 33’10.75″), Sedona Goodard (400m, 2nd, 1:00.75), Ainsley Hamsher (Pole Vault, 2nd, 9’6″), Lax (100m, 4th, 13.64), Chloe Preston (High Jump, 6th, 4’6″), Hailey Copeland (100m, 7th, 13.93 and 200m, 6th, 29.49), Alyssa Plumley (3200m, 5th, 12:53.63 and 1600m, 7th, 5:55.57), S. Hamsher (800m, 7th, 2:38.44 and High Jump, 8th, 4’4″), and Tamara Turner (Long Jump, 8th, 14’5.75″). The 4x100m relay team of Kendra Nofsinger, Copeland, Isabel Cartagena and Lax finished 2nd (54.10). Hargrave, M. Hamsher, Goodard and S. Hamsher finished 2nd in the 4x400m relay (4:10.03) while Hargrave, M. Hamsher, Goodard and Stiffler crossed the line in 3rd in the 4x200m relay. Orrville hosts the Division II District meet this coming Thursday and Saturday. Field events begin at 3:00 and track semi-finals begin at 4:30 on Thursday. Saturday, field events begin at 10:00 with track finals beginning at 11:30.
