On Friday night the Red Riders boys basketball team captured the district championship with a win over league foe Tuslaw. Both teams came out strong and the first half went back and forth with the Riders taking a two point lead into the locker room. The Riders were able to make a few adjustments and in the third quarter outscored the Mustangs 13-4. In the fourth quarter the Riders charged to a 20 point lead before pulling the starters. The Riders used balanced offense and stingy defense to get the victory. Logan Domer played excellent defense and held the Mustangs leading scorer to just 6 points and the rest of the Riders forced Tuslaw into 0-11 from the three point line. Marquael Parks and Cayden McDaniel led the balanced offensive attack with 12 points each. Ben Summers followed with 10 points, and D’Vontez Brown added 9 points after being saddled with fouls in the first half. With the win the Riders advance to the sweet sixteen to play Division III power Lutheran East on Wednesday night at 8 pm at the Fieldhouse in Canton.
